Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures with a wide range of peoples and ethnicities. The country is divided into Peninsular Malaysia on the mainland and Malaysian Borneo on the third largest island in the world. The destination is known for its wild and untouched nature where orangutan and gibbons swing through the treetops gracefully. It is also home to pygmy elephants, horn-bills and a handful of Sumatran Rhinos and tigers. The many cities scattered over the country have an abundance of history. Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Melacca and Georgetown have a strong European history with times of being under the rule of the Dutch, British and Portuguese. Anyone who visits Malaysia will be firmly impressed with the wide varieties of delicious foods served on street corners and at ancient looking coffee-shops.
